Saudi foreign trade export SASO certification

SASO is the abbreviation of English Saudi Arabian Standards Organization, which is the Saudi Arabian Standards Organization. SASO is responsible for formulating national standards for all daily necessities and products, and the standards also involve measurement systems, identification, etc. In fact, many of the SASO standards are established on the basis of safety standards of relevant international organizations such as the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). Like many other countries, Saudi Arabia has added some unique items to the standard according to its own country's civil and industrial voltage, geographical and climate environment, ethnic and religious habits, etc. In order to achieve the purpose of protecting consumers, SASO standards are not only applicable to products imported from abroad, but also to products produced in Saudi Arabia.

The Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Saudi Arabia and SASO require all products included in the SASO certification standard to have a SASO certification certificate when entering the Saudi customs. Products without a SASO certificate will be refused entry by Saudi port customs.

According to the regulations of the Saudi Arabian Standards Organization, SASO certification includes all products used by adults and children in residences, offices or entertainment places, all motor vehicles and spare parts, and construction products. These products can be mainly divided into the following categories:

Air conditioners, refrigeration equipment, heating equipment; batteries; cosmetics; toys; compressors and fans; household electronic appliances; household pressure cookers; wires and cables; fax machines; household switches and circuit breakers; lamps and lighting equipment; elevators and lifting systems; engines ; Electronic and electrical equipment for office use; personal computers; power supplies; telephones; motor vehicles and spare parts;

Construction products, coatings, etc.

The following steps are required for manufacturers to obtain SASO certification and export products to Saudi Arabia:

1. Apply to the consulting company, and the consulting company will inform the enterprise of the product certification process according to the product category and in accordance with the requirements of SASO;

2. Enterprises submit product samples for testing in accordance with the certification procedures, and some products (such as some motor vehicles and accessories) need to undergo factory inspection;

3. After passing the product inspection, the enterprise will obtain the SASO certification; if the product fails to pass the inspection, the enterprise will get a detailed explanation report;

4. When products are exported to Saudi Arabia, a SASO certification certificate must be issued when the goods enter the customs, and the technical staff of the Saudi Arabian Standards Organization will check the certificate; if the SASO certificate cannot be issued, the product will be refused entry or sampled to Saudi Arabian industry and business If the test fails, the product will be refused entry, and all costs will be borne by the exporter.

Export to Saudi Arabia SASO certification requires inspection

Now the goods exported to Saudi Arabia are more than 3000USD, the mandatory SASO certification is much stricter than before, and the requirements for inspection are also increasing.

The more common way to export Saudi Arabia SASO certification: 1. Batch customs clearance COC certificate (for less shipments)

Second, register first and then clear the customs (the number of shipments is very frequent, there is a saying of exemption from inspection, saving time and cost)

Matters needing attention in the inspection of goods exported to Saudi Arabia SASO certification:

1. Labels and instructions should be in Arabic or English. The instructions for home appliances and power tools must be in Arabic.

2. The input voltage of the product must include 127V or 220V.380V, and the frequency is 60HZ

3. "Made in China" must be silk-screened on the outer packaging and the product. If it is "made in PRC", it is not allowed.

4. Inspection includes: checking the surface quality of the goods, checking the quantity (the quantity shown on the customs clearance certificate must be consistent with the quantity checked), packaging, marking, shipping marks

5. The inspection needs to be notified 3-5 days in advance. Once the time is confirmed, the cancellation must be notified one day in advance, otherwise you need to pay the inspection fee and arrange a time for inspection

6. The cost of certificate modification: 550RMB, (the original certificate needs to be returned) If the same batch of inspection products needs to be issued in multiple batches, each certificate is 700RMB (except for special agreements).

7. Medical, textile, food, military, and some industrial products do not need to be COC. Medical and textile products can also be made if customers need them.

8. Regarding the plug, the official requirement of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia must be a British plug

9. Energy efficiency, electrical appliances (for household air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines, an energy efficiency test is required)

10. Batteries exported to Saudi Arabia need ROHS report

11. Cosmetics, shampoo, need lard test, fat test, need to be sent to a place designated by Saudi Arabia for testing

12. The label must be screen printed on the product, and the sticker is not acceptable

13. Toy products need to have EN71 report

Which products will be mandatory SASO certification?

1. For customs clearance of goods, COC is mandatory, and goods without certificates will be rejected at the destination

2. All products must comply with Saudi Arabian national technical regulations or relevant IEC international standards

3. All consumer products exported to Saudi Arabia are designated as regulated products:

Household appliances, kitchen power tools, perfumes, cosmetics, jewelry, etc. All motor vehicles and their accessories All construction materials, including paints, paints, etc.

Products that do not need to be SASO: medical equipment, medical products, food, military products

Two forms of SASO certification: 1. COC customs clearance certificate (batch clearance) test fee (depending on different products) + inspection fee (according to the value of the goods)

Inspection fee: FOB below 62,000 USD, 1950RMB

FOB between 62,000 USD-200,000 USD FOB*0.45%>1950RMB

FOB between USD 200,000-USD 100, USD 900+ (FPB-USD 200,000)*0.35%

FPB>100USD negotiable

Live products: test service fee + inspection fee

Non-electric products: provide ISO+test report+packing list+commercial invoice+product packaging picture+label picture

Time: about 3 weeks Sample: 2 pieces

Two: registration certificate

First do the registration (test + certificate) for about 2 weeks, then take the registration certificate to apply for the customs clearance certificate for about 2 weeks

Calculation method: 425uso+40USD*model quantity+test fee+inspection fee

Note: All shipped products can be placed on one certificate
